Please Welcome -- The CN V5

by Jillian Crist - February 07, 2020

The CN team has started 2020 with a brand-new version, where we have added new techniques for everyone to try. Our recent update has been out for a month now, and here is what you can do.

Locate CN on the Home screen of your phone:

Thecn.com is now completely mobile-friendly. Access your ePortfolio or course on-the-go, at any time, from anywhere. For ease of access, you can now add CN to the home screen of your phone – browsers vary from Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. CN users can now follow these simple steps for a much easier way to access your personal ePortfolio and the CN website with the tap of a finger.

Access the full set of directions HERE. With this, CN will be discontinuing the use of the mobile app on March 1st.

Add Personalized reflections to your ePortfolio:

Many users take the time to make their ePortfolios comprehensive – rich with learning evidence. However, wouldn’t you like to speak to the person viewing your ePortfolio? Now you can create personal reflections for a multitude of sections on your ePortfolio to let the viewer know why you included the sections, what its significance is, what value it adds, etc. This feature is now available in the Showcases section, Documents section, and more.

+Add Personal Reflection is available on the following:

  • Documents
  • Badges
  • Showcases
  • Education
  • Courses
  • Research
  • Publications
  • Grants

Endorsements:

Make connections and show your support by endorsing sections of others’ ePortfolios. Users can now endorse their Expertise, Recommendations, and Showcases other user’s ePortfolio, which is by far the easiest way to show your encouragement to others all around the world.

A new Gateway Page for Institutions:

CN is now offering ePortfolio FREE to all K-12 and higher education institutions. Institutions can request an Institution Gateway page for their users; that way, all members of a given university, school, or organization can sign up on a branded gateway page and begin creating their CN ePortfolio. The Institution Gateway page also comes with a search engine so potential employers can locate the talent they’re looking for from students of a particular institution. Institutions that are interested in obtaining a FREE Institution Gateway page can contact info@coursenetworking.com. Requirements are located HERE.

Post to Home Feed:

Updating your ePortfolio with accomplishments and documentation of your hard work is exciting; however, wouldn’t it be more exciting if you could share those updates with your academic network on CN? The Cn now allows your updates to be shared to your home feed, where all users in your network can observe, and even endorse you on them. Just locate the checkbox above the SUBMIT button that says, ‘Post to Home Feed.’ CN users can post Expertise, Research, Showcases, Publications, and Grants to their home feed.
